Stags make double signing

Mansfield Town have completed the double signing of Bristol Rovers defender Rollin Menayese and Cambridge United midfielder George Maris.

Both players have joined the Stags for undisclosed fees on two-year contracts, making it a total of seven signings for the League Two side next season.

Menayese, 22, made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Gas in three years, whilst also having loan spells with Swindon and Aldershot.

Maris, 24, scored 22 goals in 150 appearances for Cambridge in four seasons after moving from Barnsley, where he only featured three times for the Tykes. During his time with the then League One side between 2014 and 2016, he had three loans spells with non-league clubs Nuneaton Borough, Guiseley and Lincoln City.

Coughlan told the club website that Menayese would “make us stronger” and could “become a big player at Mansfield”.

He added: “We have a development project on our hands with Rollin. He wants to push his career to the next level, and he can do that with us here at Mansfield”.

On Maris, Coughlan said: “George is a very technical player with lots of ability and a great work ethic. He will bring us creativity in the final third and very good delivery at set pieces.”
