Gary Rowett re-signs Ryan Woods on loan

Midfielder Ryan Woods has rejoined Millwall on a season-long loan from Stoke City.

Woods only managed 14 appearances for the Potters since joining the club in August 2018, initially on loan, by current Millwall boss Gary Rowett. The player made the deal a permanent the same week Rowett was sacked at Stoke manager.

Michael O’Neill allowed the midfielder to rejoin Rowett at The Den in January, where he made 18 league appearances.

“I’m really happy,” Woods told the club website. “I’m really pleased it has been done so early as well. It was a no brainer, I’ve really enjoyed my time here since joining.

He added: “I’m starting to get my confidence back, which I lacked for 12-14 months. I’m delighted to be back to myself and I want to help out the team as much as possible going into next season.”

With the deal being a season-long loan, it means that Woods, 26, will see out the final year of his existing contract with Stoke at Millwall.
