Lincoln sign Ethan Ross from Colchester

Goalkeeper Ethan Ross has signed for League One side Lincoln City on a one-year deal from League Two Colchester United.

The 23-year-old made just eight appearances for the U’s in two seasons and is “looking forward to kicking on and working really hard” at his new club.”

“I felt like a fresh start was something I needed and jumped at the opportunity straight away,” said Ross. “It’s a step up in league and a new challenge which is something I really wanted.”

“When you hear just under 10,000 Imps going mad it makes you feel ten-foot-tall. I can’t wait to get out there in red and white colours soon.”

Ross, who spent time at Arsenal and Cambridge United in his academy days before moving to West Bromwich Albion, has played most of his career in non-league. He had two loans spells with Worcester City between 2015 and 2017, before going out on loan to Redditch United.

He joined Colchester on a permanent basis in 2018 and was loaned out to Maidstone United last season, where he featured just four times as the side were relegated from the National League.
