Jake Forster-Caskey signs new deal with Charlton

Midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey has extended his contract at Charlton Athletic by a further 12 months – the South London Press understands.

The 26-year-deal had signed a new one-year deal before the season and had a clause in that contract that allowed him to extend his stay at The Valley until 2021.

Forster-Caskey featured 12 times for the Addicks this season as they were relegated from the Championship. He missed the entirety of 2018/19 after suffering an ACL injury in training.

A product of the Brighton academy, he spent seven years with the Seagulls, featuring 82 times and scoring nine goals. During that time he enjoyed loan spells with Oxford United, Milton Keynes Dons and Rotherham United.

The midfielder joined Charlton on a permanent basis in 2017, linking up with former MK Dons Karl Robinson. In his three years with the club so far, he has made 73 appearances and scored seven goals.

Forster-Caskey has also played at every youth level for England between 2010 and 2015.
