Bantams Secure Cooke On A Permanent Deal

Midfielder Callum Cooke has joined Bradford City on a permanent basis from League One side Peterborough United.

The 23-year-old, who spent last season with the Bantams, making 25 league appearances as the side finished ninth in League Two, has penned a two-year-deal at Valley Parade.

He is the fourth signing by Stuart McCall this summer following the re-signing of winger Dylan Mottley-Henry and the acquisitions of defender Levi Sutton from Scunthorpe and striker Billy Clarke from Grimsby, who is now at his third stint with the club.

Cooke, who made 20 appearances for Peterborough in two seasons, was delighted that the deal was done and is eager to kick on with next season: “I just knew, when my loan finished here, that I wanted to come back. I got straight on the phone to my agent and told him that this was the club I wanted to be at.”

The midfielder, who came through the ranks at Middlesbrough, did not register an appearance for the club in his three years there. He enjoyed loan spells with Crewe Alexandra and Blackpool between 2017 and 2018.
