Experienced right-back Branislav Ivanovic has made his Premier League return after signing for newly promoted West Bromwich Albion.

The 36-year-old Serbian, who spent nine years with Chelsea between 2008 and 2017, has penned a one year deal with Slaven Bilic’s side.

“He’s a great addition for us, a team who are newly promoted. He ticks all the boxes,” said Bilic.

“He’s done everything in his career – it’s been magnificent. We’re delighted. He adds quality and experience on the pitch and off the pitch.

“The Premier League is the best league in the world,” Ivanovic added.

“I need to challenge myself and I am ready for the challenge. I am really happy to be back playing in the Premier League.”

The Serbian made a total of 377 appearances for Chelsea, where he won the Premier League and the FA Cup three times, as well as the Champions League and Europa League.

He had spent the last three and a half years with Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg, where he featured 125 times and managed 12 goals.

Ivanovic has also been capped 105 times for his nation, scoring 13 goals in 12 years of playing for Serbia.
